Detroit Fan Fare 2011

Had fun going solo (not like Han) to Detroit Fan Fare today. Got to see some friends, picked up a couple cute things for Charlotte and snagged some treats for Steve and I. AND my car was where I left it when I went to leave :)
Detroit

The Cosplayers were excited on their way in.

Storm Troopers come in all shapes and sizes.

Asian Snack Time was there, this made me very happy!

They had a ton of Mochi. I picked up a big variety box.

 A tower of Pocky.

I grabbed a box of the chocolate coconut. Yum.

 Nice variety of drinks too.

The T-shirt tower of terror was there as always. These guys have everything and never disappoint! They always have something new. This time they had a cute variety of winter hats. I got Charlotte a pink Domo hat and a Toodie hat for Christmas.

Afternoon at the Park

Not too many warm days of the season left, so Charlotte and I spent the afternoon at the park the other day. She made friends with a couple of girls on the playground. She had a wonderful time!

First Portrait Series

These were some drawings from a couple of weeks ago. Charlotte LOVES drawing and coloring. This was the first time I asked her to draw something for me. First I asked her draw a picture of mommy. She said "OK!" and lifted her etch-a-sketch vertically and started to draw. She paused and peeked from behind her drawing, gave me a good look and continued to draw. A funny gesture to see from a two year old. I imagine she has seen me doing this from my easel many times and must have been where she picked it up. She did this a couple of times as I asked her "What does Mommy look like? How many eyes do I have? Do I have a nose? Mouth? Hair?"After a few moments she turned her etch-a-sketch around to show me what she had created and voilĂ ~!

Don't I look like a perfect llama! I really thought this was fantastic for a two year old.
So I asked her to draw a picture of Daddy, Grandma and then a portrait of herself.

This is Daddy...

This is Grandma ( Great Squidbilly)

And this is her first self-portrait. So sweet...
